I've just pre ordered one of these, made in Canada. It's a gamechanger in listening to music and telephone and inter-bike comms if the claims are to be believed. Anyone here got any experience of them? Found at www.domiosports.com They have an offer on at the moment including an extra "airmic" mount and an extra main hardware mount for free. Total = £129, delivered anywhere worldwide through indiegogo....it has to be worth a try at that price, no headphones or wires!
There is already a German (iirc) company that offers s similar system. It basically converts the helmet shell into a vibratory shell.
I see issues.
As our @scot in exile will exalt - you SHOULD be wearing earplugs anyway. If you do, all sound transmission to your hearing receptors will then be via bone conduction, which certainly works but do not expect High Fidelity.
Bought a set of buhel headsets a few years ago they were not cheap, they work in the same way as these. well simply they don't work above 30mph with the wind noise. They work great when sitting at a set of lights though, but as my wife pointed out it makes your helmet like a loud speaker and everyone around can here you as well.

Very sensible, and it makes a huge difference. I was brought up and still live on a farm (not a working farm anymore though). I always wore ear defenders when operating noisy machinery like tractors without cabs, chainsaws etc. and my hearing is, I like to think, very good still. My father on the other hand never did and has been wearing hearing aids for the last 20 years.
Even with the h. aids his hearing is still pretty bad so he misses large parts of conversations, and his tv is so loud it makes our ears bleed! It's also really annoying having to repeat things for him all the time when it could have been avoided.
