doug is right I am not sure if Triumph has created a tamper proof ecu yet. One thing for sure is you cannot load older maps into the newer Roadsters as the ECU is different. Also do not load a Touring map in either even though the ecu's are physically the same the internal software is different. the Touring does not have the ABS system in the ecu. Now I have heard that the newer touring has ABS but cannot confirm whether the software programs are the same. Before you go messing with the software I would contact tune boy or Tune ecu to see if they know anything different about the software. New ECU's are pricey and there is not much of a chance in finding a wrecked one so new in the year. Be carefull, my advice is enjoy what you have and let the software people work the bugs out on the newer models before you go experimenting with it. I will see if Carpenter Racing has had any problems or dealing with the 2014 units.
This is a big plus for us guys who have the older ecu as they are much more foregiving!
Everyone has *****ed about the ignition problems of the older bikes but lately I have taken notice of a rash of electrical problems with the newer bikes. Makes me happy mine did not mess up until after 60,000 miles.
