Did anyone elongate the rear mud flap?

I think I seen either a post or a video, which I didn't save, someone bolted a longer mud flap onto the existing one.

Why I ask, there so much sand and small gravel that accumulates around the area around the mono-shock. I was thinking of a way to make the flap wider and longer.. Just asking, not to re-invent the wheel, if there is already something that works.

Do you mean the rear hugger? There are a few aftermarket carbon options and a couple of full length fenders. Extending the boot-scraper license holder won't make any difference.

No, I don't mean the scorpion tail. I mean the plastic mud flap near the mono shock.

Where that flap is mounted, I usually get a collection of sand and small stones.

There are more expensive carbon fibre ones that are similar, out there in the market.

Looks overly expensive, but nice. I have seen someone cut the flap from some other bike and bolt it on top of the stock one, elongating it. I think it is like $20.

Shop around. Prices vary.

This is the lowest price i've seen here in the UK, but elsewhere, I don't know.

There's always an option of making one, but the question surrounding that option is: Can it be made and function reliably for less than the one already available on the market. You suggest that it can, so go ahead and make one. I would if I were as confident as you.
