Detent spring

Hi, when I removed the front casing i found what i thought was the detent spring in two pieces. Upon closer examination there were two different springs in the engine. The one on the left is the detent spring and the one on the right I am unsure where it comes from. I have checked the parts catalogue and cannot see where it would go. Can anyone advice what the spring is for and where it should be located. A photograph or parts catalogue part number would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

That's the spring on the end of the lifter piece.
