I was watching some videos of people popping dents out of their cars with a hair dryer and a can of air duster. I have a dent in my oil tank but the paint is intact. Anyone treid this? It looks like it works pretty good.

Interesting. Will ask a panel beater mate , I too have a dent needs repair top of fuel tank on mine. Would assume only simple non crease dents of course and also only thin flat sheet steel sections would work, ?.Thanks for post.

Mine is on the top of the oil tank just to the right of the cap. I could probably get inside the tank and push it out from the inside but I'm very curious to try this heating and cooling thing. I wonder if there is danger of paint popping off?
I wonder if the metal is too thick. I'm trying to find out if there is a danger of a circle of paint popping off. For some reason, I can see that potentially happening when it "pops". I'm tempted to try it, but not *that* tempted yet. I'll let you know if I find any stories.
Just some historical FYI -
Years ago when he had his Indian dealership, my dad could use an acetylene welding torch and cold wet rags pop out serious dents. He used to even perform this on motorcycle tanks filled with sand.
I would seriously NOT recommend doing this!
