DARK SIDE WANA BE

if you are going to check out the darkside, you don't have to reinvent the wheel,so to speak.use a tire that has been proven by darksiders to work well , like a riken raptor 225/50/16.trying something new will ,imho , leave you with no point of reference, you can compare it to a mc tire you have ridden on,but without knowing what a good tire f eels like ,how will you know if its right.

Good pkints that illustrate exactly why a tire designed for the motorcycle is best!
JJust sayin' . . .

Just thinking high performance motorcycles (300Kph out of the box) as far as I know are never fitted with Car Tyres, but I can remember old WLA Harleys and ex Army 600cc big single Nortons ect running around on cross ply car tyres ,also just sayin.

with a darkside tire its a compromise ,no matter how you look at it.it may be better in the rain,or allow more stopping power, although I think it locks up and slides eaiser. but I did not buy my bike to ride in the rain or panic stop I bought it to ride fast on dry roads and it stops just fine.you have to get used to these compromises with a car tire.then it seems to make sense, with a m/c tire theres nothing to ''get used to''.when I 1st mounted a raptor on my bike, the 1st 50 miles I thought I had made a big mistake, then I got used to it and it was doable .rode that tire for over 7 years like 50,000 miles got good with it I guess but it always held me back f rom the kind of riding I enjoy most.i ended up putting a 130 on the front a the transformation was considerable, making me think I was missing something with this darkside, may be a m/c tire is better I thought.so, I mounted a bridgestone on the back and viola this thing was amazing for such a large machine, hell any machine for that matter.it chewed the 130 in no time though, 1 season and the 130 was serious toast.i will challenge any dark sider to mount a brigstone on the back with a good 140 section front tire and you will think you got a new bike all over again.i also raised the forks up about 3/4 of an inch at the trees and I really don't think there is a darkside combo out there that can compare.just saying, my 2 cents worth.

that's the one I'm going to start with. ordering it Saturday

this aint politics, its religion
Own a 2015 Rocket X. Bought new in Oct 2015. Stock tires were a joke. Bought Avon's stock tire size front and back. Not much better. Went to the Darkside and a Dunlap on the front (Elite Three) Handled great on the highway but not so great the rest of the time. Now at 30,000 miles running a Michelin Scorcher 140/75R17 up front and a Exedra Max 240/55R16 on rear. Great handling and wonderful traction.
