I'm looking to get a little more oomph from my R3T and am considering the D&D pipes with K&N filter or the TORs with the download.

I believe that the D&D pipes still have the cats, but the TORs do not. Without getting into the Tuneboy/dyno thing, anyone know which setup offers the most bang for the buck?

The D&D does not have the cat. I have them and they sound good but have no comparison to the TORS except I like the clean look of 3 - 2 vs the TORS 3-3.

On the Rocket 3 Touring the TOR pipes are 3 into 2, I believe, in keeping with the original look.

Good to hear about "no cats" in the D&Ds. But do they perform better than the TORs?

I have the D&D's. You can check their website for their claims about performance gains and dyno sheets. I don't know what Triumph claims for the TORS but I suspect they're similar. After all, the design is probably very much the same. Eliminate the cats and replace with a straight through muffler with baffling.

Yep! Here's a sound clip of the TORs:

Action vids are next, when I have time.

Triumph claims the TORs, along with the cat delete pipe and tune (done at the dealer), will net you 20hp. They are, as you can see, a 3-3 setup.

Because they are a factory offering, they fit perfectly. You do have to reuse a couple of the hangar bushings, as the new pipes don't come with them, so I'd suggest ordering new ones with the pipes. They can be a real bear to get out intact!

Man, you aren't kidding about poor sound... Two passes up and down a street and then.......HD exhaust noise and theme music. :(

It would really be cool if someone that has a set of these (hint, hint) could post their own clips! ;)

How do they sound at idle? How much louder than stock are they?

The TORs are pretty noticeable right from the start. Downright ear-shattering if you're standing within ten feet of the most-seen end of the tailpipes. At idle, they're not overly loud, but will definitely get your attention. I'd guess somewhere in the low-90s, decibel-wise, at their loudest.

Not anywhere close to the Sparks Racing exhaust on my Yamaha YFZ450 (racing-type ATV, for you non-offroaders out there), though. That thing's downright obnoxious. 106db, as measured five feet back and two feet to one side. But it's stupid-quick.:D

That camera shake when I rapped the throttle a couple of times in that vid? That was from the exhaust.

I believe the original question was regarding the TORS for the R3T. From what I've heard (no first hand knowledge) the TORS for the R3T aren't nearly as loud as those for the Standard/Classic.

Then again, I could be wrong....
