So this thread i am going to show you my current plans for my 06 Classic and i want you all to chime in with whatever modifications, colors, ideas, and anything you would like to add or your ideal dream rocket would be.

So to start with this is the list of must haves and things I am going to do
Strip it down completely
Robertson rebuilt trans with a billet 4th and new forks
Carpenter 240 kit (possibly the 265+ if i can DIY it from them), Balance Crank assembly, clutch etc...
rebuild engine (seals bearings etc... that need it) and a wiring job (grounds, headlight relay, and what not)
I'm going to keep the 3 Cobra pipes i have but go back to the 2 inch baffles vs the 1-3/4 baffles I put in there for the lower DB

but i am going to do a custom exhaust by using the Carpenter sidewinder manifold

but do a true 3 pipe vs a collector like in this (i know im going to drop some HP not doing a collector but i may find a way to do a hidden collector where the cat box is but it must appear to be a true 3 pipe system the entire way similar to this video , also ceramic coated inside and chrome outsite

I'm putting on the Corbin tail bags i got from CHI-TOWN.ROCKET
I already have the Progressive rear shocks and ill put the progressive front springs in as well.

I'm going to be doing this paint job on all the tins including the oil tank and radiator covers including having the engine, diff, starter, forks, and wheels chromed and do the same gold paint stripe on parts of the engine, the black on the wheels, and the radiator grill and the small wind guard over the handle bars and going tan on the grips and seat with alligator, and have a custom oil tank cover that says "2300 cc"

I'm going to keep the bear claw stock and stick with the ram air but then replace the air box under the seat with a NOS bottle
Swap the front dual headlights for a set of J.W. speaker lights, ditch the OEM front and rear turn signals and go with a nice set of form mounted fronts and put the rears in the Corbin bags with a custom license plate flush mount into one of the bags at the rear

Personly I would cut the bear claw to draw in cool air & use 3 k&n 2780's at least they are cleanable.

I'm 50/50 on that one. I already have the ramair. I like how the chrome bear claw looks more than I like the pod filter look. I love the way it looks on some rockets, but it's not my style. I may do both but I'd have to see it on a dyno. I do plan on some dyno time. Eventually when it's built

OHHHHHHH that looks AWESOME! i have never seen that one before!
I could even carry a custom made cover that slips over that if i had to ride in heavy rain (the main reason i do not like the other open style) you know all that rain we get in Colorado LOL

You can opped for rain socks over the filters. I did have the cuts on the front for a bit of forced air in at speeds, but opted for a back cut as the rain is very unlikely to get on the filters when riding along

10/10 I will cosign this build. It's going to be awesome.

I could not be happier with my carpenter bikes. They are just terrific.

You are going to need heat shields on the exhaust. Before chroming have some small screw bungs welded on. You can see the six Paul Bryant added on mine.
Is that just chrome or is there ceramic coating? My local powder coating ( blue flame) has me assured that they can ceramic coat the inside of the pipes before and or after chrome.
I'm on the fence for chrome as the engine is going to be chrome and it might be a nice contrast for the pipes to be black or something. My understanding is that if both sides are ceramic coated there is no need for a heat shield?
