Frozen Butts in the Rockies

In Colorado you adjust to the c..c...c.....cold or you don't ride! Single digits are expected in winter months, along with abundantly poor roadway surfaces but we ride anyway. It's a Rocky Mountain Thang! Toy Rides at Christmas are fun with frozen beards galore. Winter is when ALL Colorado bikers are one, regardless of scooter nameplate. Iron...frozen...butts and all!

No heated ANYTHING for me!:D

Glad we have some "iron" men here but for me...I like my rear warm and comfy and especially my hands so that I can handle the cold better when I ride and react a lot faster as the fingers aren't frozen.

But if you are riding in the winter...more power to you...especially if you are not riding with heat (not the guns type).

My main winter ride "don't" is if the bike won't crank because the oil is frozen...then it may be too cold to ride. But as I am getting older and it is freezing already when I walk outside...I reserve the right to take my truck...I are not as young as I used to be:D.

Silly me - I overlooked the option of f***ing your fender up completely so the marks wouldn't show (or matter). As a less obvious, and clearly 'soft', option you could try Meguiars Scratch X 2.0. It claims to be a "fine sctatch and blemish remover" and worked brilliantly for me. Next time though I might just use an angle grinder or one of the other more manly options these clowns suggested. ;)

Manly clown I like that one compared to some of the names I have been called:D
In this part of Florida it gets down to the low teens and single digits quite often and come summer time over the triple digits very often, as for riding when you are frozen that is just plain nuts and a danger to your self and others around you unless you have a windshield, hippo hands and a dozen layers of clothing on your back.
I will on occasion put my windshield on when it gets down to the teens but I hate it just as I hate music players on a bike but the heated glooves are great.

Actually, i don't ride in winter. Salt, sand, ice, and snow makes it unridable..... of course I could go DS! Yeah! Studded tired makes it possible.
Snow on the horizon tonight, and my sweet maybe parked for the duration. Except I need to do the final year end oil change etc. and tuck her in.
Jealous of you southerners? Nah, there's too much to do here, like ski and snowshoe, dust my dancing shoes off, get some time in the footlights...

As Dave mentioned it does get cold here on occasion...buuuuutttttt...we don't get the snow (possibly a "dusting" every several years or so...but not much) so we are able to "consider" riding if we want.

For you guys living in the realms of possible snowfall...I feel your pain...must be tuff...not to be able to ride and having to put the bike up for the winter.

And I'll try and see if I can find that Meguiars polish and see if it will do anything for those imprints in the paint...hope so.
