I wish someone would put some effort into keeping the flip phone quality up to date. After having a smart phone for several years because of that I would definitely throw my smart phone away and go back to a flip. I like simple. Al
 
My mother can't operate her phone, and Dad is holding onto his flip-phone as well. There is a new breed of flip-phones being developed, but they are essentially basic smartphones wrapped in flip-phone casing and being sold in the market similar to prepaid phones. The reason is that in a few short years not even the legacy devices will be usable in the forthcoming mobile network.

Bought a new truck recently and it reads my texts to me, which can be a bit awkward
 
I have a tablet that has all the apps I need and a very usable display. I have a laptop to handle my more secure and processor hungry needs. To me, cramming everything into a device that will fit into your pocket makes no sense. All I need in a phone is a phone. Its like a do everything motorcycle. If it can do everything, it likely does nothing exceptionally well.
 
I took an LG G3 as a replacement and got an 8.3 pad for free. Not sure why I did that. Oh well, back to the future.
