I've found waiting for my wife's permission to buy a new bike would keep me upgrading the house til I gave up! Around here it's much easier to just buy the bike and beg forgiveness while jewelry shopping.
 
I can remember like it was yesterday after many years of marriage I heard this line one too many times "it's either me or you tony". Being single is not that bad.
