Confused about sissy bar and backrest pad

The T-Bird has 3 bolts on the fender. The QR backrest goes on the front 2, which are about 5" apart. The Rocket fender has 2 bolts, which are much further apart, no? There is no QR backrest for the Rocket. The larger pad I believe is the optional touring pad.

I played it safe and got everything that was for my year and model of my bike. I hope I don't have any surprises that something doesn't fit but I shouldnt with proper model and year.

So I am currently going through the confusion of figuring out the possible options for my RIII R. I read this thread and was wondering... has anyone tried the QRSBK?:

I'm trying to figure out this mess so I can order a sissy bar for my woman so she doesn't go splat on the next long ride... Wow, that's dark...

Will this backrest work with the tall sissy bar?:

or this one?

I can't seem to find a back pad that matches the OEM picture of:

even on Triumph's website.

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Now I am confused why are you going to a sissy bar if you have a girlfriend ?? Are you going to take her with you??? Are you going because they sell beer real cheap there???? I could not resist lol hahahaha

The quick release sissy bar kit A9750516 (your first link) is for the touring model and will not work on a Roadster. There is no "integral lock and key security system" for the roadster/standard/classic sissy bar. Also notice the round bars on both the sissy bar and luggage rack. The sissy bar and rack for anything but a touring uses square metal stock as seen in the photo in your last link.

Your second and third link are both for the same pad pad A9708177. The text in both links say this pad is for the quick realease kit but both links correctly show the pad on a square post sissy bar! The second link even references it's for A9750516 quick release. This is piss poor advertising by Triumph and can only lead to confusion. No wonder the "live agent" didn't have any answers for you.[/QUOTE]

That's what you need and those prices are probably the best you'll find it for new. Nice work.
