Cobra Problem ?

Thats good customer service. That shop is a keeper.

The motorcycle shop that does my tire work isn't a big fan of Avons. They have had problems with Avons in which he said didn't have many miles on the tires and the customer brings them back or complains. I personally had a problem with a Avon Cobra on the front of my Roadster. I would get the death wobble around 40 MPH if I took my hands off the bars. What made me notice it however is I kept feeling something every time I got to that speed with my hands on the bars. So I naturally took my hands off at that speed and about croaked when my bars started shaking. The tire guy put my tire on the speed balancer and it didn't show out of balance. The tire didn't have a lot of miles on it and still had tread left. I checked head stock bearing, forks, etc... couldn't find the problem. I put a new Metz back on and everything has been fine ever since.

I have the problem now with the Metz on the front. I have checked the stem nut and bearing. Axle and pinch nuts. Only happens between 38-42 with hands off. Time for a tire I think.

I had a similar thing but not to the same extent. I was due to change the tyre so I did not pursue it with the tyre company. It did look like an issue with the tyre structure and not due to damage.
