Despite lowering the overall gearing by fitting 245 x40x17 instead of 245x45x17 I have still not got rid of my clutch slip problem. Has anyone fitted an extra driven plate in the clutch pack?

I think adding another plate without another clutch disc wouldn't work, and adding more plates and discs wouldn't allow clutch to work at all. What clutch and springs are you using?

Think this is a common trick in motocross so my son tells me. Presently using EBC springs with a pre-load washer under the bolts.

If my soon to be 75 year old feeble mind is correct, I believe you do add a disk when leaving out the judder spring and washer..... just sayin......

My friend the stock fibers have one with a larger internal diameter so the spring and washer can sit inside it.
This is the innermost fiber.
However when you replace the stock fibers with say MTC ones, they are all the same so there is no room for the spring and washer anymore they are not required then.
(If you do cram them in then the clutch will be jammed).
There is the same amount of fibers as stock.
So you wouldn't add a disk, more replace that OEM one with the larger internal diameter.
