I never did , ran it for 6 months like that ,. had the tune done when I eventually fitted the pipes too
 
Me neither - ran for a year with swapping between stock/TORs & a mixture of both, with the cat bypass & the standard tune.

Every time I swapped pipes, I did the 12 minute tune though.
 
But I did. Got the supplier to fit bypass and install new tune for free. I have a TuneBoy now though. A cat bypass will cause the engine to run lean. You may not experience any problems but who knows what long term damage you are causing to valves etc. through localised overheating in the combustion chamber.

Yeah, you should at least get the proper factory tune put in for the bypass. Go with the one labeled "full power" or get Tuneboy for more torque giggles.

Without tune change the bike will run lean though it will be hard to tell if anything is wrong in the short term. In the long term you can expect the valves to go out sooner and other components due to higher running engine temps.
