Well .... I hadn't seen your replies and got bored so I threw things on
I added the Permatex to where the aluminum plate meets the inlets. That worked well. For the record the Kawaki H2 gasket worked the exact same as the stock. So if anyone needs a gasket and the triumph parts are out of stock I suggest the H2 ones.
Based on your advice (Warp and HansO) I'll probably take the header pipes off that plate and reinstall on the bike with the silicon. That said, the one you recommended, Hanso, seems interested since it is clear
. I might even be able to apply that to the joints without taking the pipe off .... I wonder if that will work? Or it might just be a pipe dream (I can't believe I just made that joke, please no-one laugh).
Anyways here is the picture of the new pipes on the bike. The polished steel looks great, there are a few kinks or dents that I am not overly impressed with based on the price, but noone will notice them except me. They did a great job of hugging the contour of the bike and being just a few mm off the engine. The pipe is also nicely forward and away from my leg. I haven't ridden yet but I expect it will be nice and cool on the leg.
