Cant get it into neutral

So I went out and measured my dipstick. 17.75" or 45cm. Make sure its the right length. Had this happen years ago on a 65 impala transmission dip stick. Trans kept slipping, dipstick was too long . I know this is a way outside shot but worth the check.
