Can Jardines be ceramic coated?

Leigh, I've never had it done but know of folks who have It was common amongst the classic BMW guys who would have this done to the stock chrome exhaust. I recall seeing a beautifully done exhaust on a 1978 Boxer several years ago. I don't recall what the name of the plater was but he was in Seattle. I also cannot recall if the chrome had to be completely removed or just bead blasted.
 
Chrome has to be sandblasted off
Ceramic coating should not be any problem
Be a totally different look
 
Can't think of any reason why you can't do it!
 
I've been thinking of having the black part ceramic coated ( under the heatshields) just for the sake of having my leg hair grow back....... it's still cooler running than my wife's air-cooled machine but it might be a nice addition for hot-weather riding........ the quotes to have it done have all been cheaper than I had thought too
 

Good call Barzeen. It's funny what goes through one's mind while on the road. We drove from Moab, UT to Mountain Home, Idaho today and the exact thing popped into my mind. My Jards are sitting on my work bench awaiting installation and one of the things I noted while inspecting them is that the headers are very nicely done and don't really need heat shields if ya like black. It seems that they could easily be coated with the mufflers the only components needing sand blasting. Of course this is from memory so I might find this might not be such a good idea when I get home and take a closer look.
 
they might not like the fact the exhaust has been used and could contaminate their processing plant? Dunno....but you can get that kind of excuse from chrome platers who wont want their solutions contaminated..
 

Coolio - do you have any more information about the company? turnaround time? value for money? etc etc etc :wink:
