Cable connection problem

I have been trying to get the cable connected to the bike and laptop but with no luck . I have windows 8 and i am not a PC expert so all theses articals i have read here are just goble de gook to me lol. Is there a easier way to get it all working together ?

Which software are you using and which cable are you trying to connect?

Its a blue one 16 pin , the correct one via the forum here . The program just says it can't find ecu or something , little red box flashes in bottom right corner of tune program then a pop up box says turn ignition off and on

I bought the soild blue cable to us with tuneecu and it would not connect to my bike. I ordered the blue connecter with the silver cable and it worked great.

Yes it came with a cd but it will not load when you go to install comes up with an error box . Is it a windows 8 problem ? should i get and older xp model to do this ?

That's what I would try. Borrow one with Xp from someone and try it. Mine worked with xp but I had to use the cd the first time. Maybe someone that's tried 8 will chime in here soon.

Thats the exact same problem i have had with mine and when it has work ( only twice ) i cant save a map or even do tests ??? I think i will bring other older laptop home from work and try it.
