Ride
kx500
Let me start off by saying, this board is great! Lots of great information to study. Years ago started on a kz1000..what a pig...went to off road bikes, currently ride a kx 500..ignore the kawi pattern! Have had a jawa, guzzi, hondas..etc. only thing that concerns me are the problems with the early r3s , and that's all I can swing right now...sorry for the novel.......Danny

-Your east of Chandler. I gathered by the heading ...dry heat...
I'm in California, Pleasanton which is about 30 Miles north San Jose.

I considered moving to AZ last year for work. I was asked to come down and work on the new Intel plant. ..Glad I didn't.
Although I have heard they are thinking of starting up the site again.

Welcome Danny Boy. Problems with older models should mostly be ironed out if they're still on the road. Here's a twist; look for one that's actually been ridden rather than a low mileage "barn find". It most likely will have had all the recalls/upgrades done. Better still, try to get an '09 (or '08).

Yep east of chandler. .I furnish all of the clean room signs for the Intel here and a bunch in cali, Oregon, new Mexico etc.../ that's a great idea and is how I'm leaning...I don't like payments so I'm only making one! Has to be an informed purchase. .guess I'm in the right place. .

What model are you interested in? There are generally deals to be found and as you know now is prime shopping time around here. In most areas of the country everybody buys in the spring so prices go up. Around here its just the opposite. Best deals are available when it starts getting miserably hot.

If you make it to Intel Santa Clara give me shout. My office is literally across the street from Intel's parking lot.

I know there are roadsters, classic, touring etc . But I don't know what years had what models available and what the differences are...I'm 6'5" and 240 ish...I just went and threw a leg over a 2011 roadster. .seemed to fit well but I'm open to suggestions. .
