Breakaway

Lever

Well, I talked to Brian at Breakaway... he stated it wasn't the radial brakes, it was a change in the brake lever, moving the nut farther away changes the pivot point and continually throws the device out of adjustment. They didn't see a fix and wouldn't recommend the device.

I used to have the same issue. It took me 2 seasons of fiddling with it every month or so but now it works beautifully. Don't give up on it yet.

It's still a brilliant throttle locker and looks better than pretty much any other one I've seen. I'd still take it and just find a way to line up the brake release or use the thumb release.

I really like my Go Cruz. I think it will work with any bike and cost $20 shipped. I had one on my Stratoliner and now one on my Rocket.

I have one on my 2011 R3T. Fits fine and works as advertised. No problems. Had it off at one point as it wouldn't stay locked and had to readjust a little to get it back to normal but it will fit, all other things being equal. Has worked flawlessly since. I haven't had any slippage problems to speak of but I have yet to meet a friction throttle lock that doesn't slip at least a little in time. Firm rotational force from the throttle grip (esp the R3 throttle) and a bumpy road will get the best of them to roll off at least a little in time but usually I've hit a hill or a light or something anyway before that happens and flick it off or adjust it. This one is better than most. Next best thing to a fully electronic c/c.

Sorry, bub, can't say. Got him with 2k on the odo and the Breakaway already there. It looks like the 5CPO2 but I can't say for sure. It has that flat, L-shaped anchor plate at the brake end. The others on the BA home page don't appear to. The only markings on it are on the plate under the circular clamp: First line = BPI, second line = 0630311-0103. Of course, no model number that I could find. If yours has those nos., should fit as mine doesn't appear grossly altered to be able to do so and I didn't when I tore it down and adjusted it. Otherwise, present that to BA and see what they say. Again, mine has worked superbly since I dialed it in. Let us know what happens.

installed

Got the Breakaway, but work and other issues delayed getting it installed. I had a new extended bracket made from stainless and it installed and worked well. We'll see how it works over time if it needs constant adjusting, but at first use, it seems like it will be stable.

Nice!!!! Pretty simple mechanical device really....as long as all the engineered points work the way they are supposed to, you could have quite a few different install configs and still get the most out of it.......glad to hear it worked out
