2011 R3T, Saving my 1996 HD Softtail for Grandson
Does anyone know why the Breakaway doesn't work on a 2011 R3T? Their website clearly states it doesn't support the R3T?

Pretty sure it does, not sure why they say that. I had it 90% fitted and discovered a couple parts were missing. Contacted the guy I bought it from, turned out they were still on his bike. Just got them, will report back when I get a chance to reinstall it. He said he had it installed on a touring.

I've had one on my '09 Classic for a few years now. Not sure of the differences in the grips between mine and the Touring.

the worst that could be the case is you might have to fabricate a small bracket for the auto cancel..cant see how it wont work on any bike.

I have a Breakaway also, and while it fits my R3T perfectly, it won't (and never has been able to) hold the throttle at a given position. It can't seem to overcome the throttle spring back pressure - the throttle is just too heavy. I've reset mine according to the directions several times - and it still won't hold - the speed always scrubs off at the rate of about 5 mph every few seconds.

Nice device - extremely well made and cleverly engineered, even nice looking when installed - but just not a good piece of kit for the R3T.

The throttle would have to be slipping within the rubber ring. Mine came with 3 different thicknesses of rubber shim. With the thickest one, and the set screws tightened, I can't see any possible way it could slip? It was a hell of a chore getting the metal ring over the rubber, did you perhaps use one of the thinner rubbers?

have one on my R3T and it works very well. No problems with slipping. Cancels from the front brake and the button on the front facing rider. Love it

2011

Called and left a message, they called back and stated, "Unfortunately they are only compatible with the R3 through 2010. Triumph changed to Radial Brakes in 2011 and Breakaway Cruise Control is not compatible with radial brakes.

Any idea as to what changed? I didn't know that the brakes had changed...

Only change was ABS on the Roadster and some Tourings. Dont know what they mean by radial brakes anyway.
