Brand new Rocket 3 transmission issue

Sure is and full of genuine experts on line 24/7. Friendly and helpful too. I log on several times a day just to learn as there's always some small nougat somewhere.

Long may it continue.

Thanks, Blackthou. I have just found out that the nearest Triumph dealer is over 200 miles away in Lisbon. I live in the southwest of Portugal. I'm an expat Englishman.

Has your R3R been reliable?

My 06 was bulletproof for the 27,000 miles I rode it. I only had pipes, air filter and a decent map and the bike made all the power I could ask for.

ricochet, why did you sell your Rocket?

I'm the type of guy that buys new bikes every 3-4 years. I've owned a lot. The Rocket was one of my best bikes I've bought for sure, but in my case I've always wanted to try Adventure Riding so I purchased a 2016 Yamaha Super Tenere ES -- The reason being that while the rocket is an awesome bike, where I live the roads are in terrible condition, lots of potholes, construction which also leads to dirt roads... I was always sick and tired of riding to these beautiful places only to be presented with a terrible dirt road with huge bumps -- I got sick of it. So I bought this Super Tenere and now when I see a dirt road I actually LOVE it and just gas it through. The other reasons are that I've always been a "Techy" guy so a lot of the older folks here who say "Keep it simple!" will scoff at me but I happen to LOVE cruise control, traction control, ride by wire, rider modes, ABS, Electronic Suspension adjustment and hand warmers, all in one neat package (Not to mention the incredible gas mileage of 300 miles per tank on the highway!)

So those are the reasons I sold my Rocket. Not because it was a bad bike, but because my tastes differ from time to time. While I had the rocket I also had a Honda ST1300 to test for "Sport Touring". It was an excellent road bike, That V4 was so smooth it was like butter. Excellent gas mileage. But again, it was an absolute pig on the dirt and weighed way too much. Adventure Touring has been everything I've wanted in a bike for many years now, now that I am able to afford it.

Good post, ricochet. I have a Buell Ulysses for that sort of stuff. Very underrated bike.

yea" you deserve a new properly functioning rocket 3 right now and not some time later; The one that you paid your hard earned money for" "Good luck and be safe!
