that all depends on whether u r on the highway or driving around town.
alot of them come on at 1/2 tank (mine does). u just fill it up that is about 3 gallons times the miles per gallon = about 100 miles.
i think that triumph made it come on like that so u would always have the fuel pump covered with gas.
works for me i just put about 100 to 130 miles then look for a station.
9 times out of 10,when you are in the midle of nowhere ,and i have not got a clue where the nerest fuel station is ?so i go as slow as i can, with my fingers crossed.
I have been reading a number of threads on here, and these bikes seem to have so many problems. Why? Are Triumph so incompetent. I badly want one of these bikes but ...

I would say most owners have not had a trans issue. That said their are some assemble issues like all bikes, but I would also say that IMHO bad maintance, abuse and improper shifting may cause most of the other problems. Their is plenty of guys on here that beat the living day lights out of their rockets and have not had issues. These are high power engines with enough torque to blow the trans apart with a couple of bad shifts!
Do your home work then buy one, you won't regret it, I promise!! Good luck!
