Quite like the idea of a K100 cutstom build project.
Found this and find it inspiring.

I wouldn't want such an extreme Cafe racer riding position. I'd want flat bars, a longer rear subframe and more mid-positioned rearsets, but it's got the juices flowing.

They're very reliable and simple units with a low centre of gravity that should make a useable and fun bike to ride.

Regarding the type of machine.....
- General chassis geometry
-Tech complexity
-Riding position
-Stripped back lightness

Chimes with my thinking and desire for a characterful bike just to hoon about on.

I've just gone for this as my starting point:

Main focus for me, is to make a more comfy seat pad and try to somehow do something to stop my backside from getting wet & muddy
It's the character of the engine that made my decision to go Buell/Harley based.
Not the cheapest route to fun and simplicity, I know, but i've fancied a BottPower XR1 since they showed the prototype yonks ago.

Saw a tricked-up, cut-back K100 cafe racer at Squires Cafe a few months ago. It got a lot of attention. I liked the look of it too. Pity I didn't take any photos.
