Spanner symbol could be due to date not been reset due to disconnecting the battery

I was about to say... My clutch switch caused that same symptom (2011 Roadster) just a few days ago, but surprised on a new Rocket. Glad you got it sorted out.

This switch is a weak point of the R3, ref. same consequence from a different cause : Help, no start

I was goung to suggest kill switch. Ive done that a few times.
