2014 R3R,
Some of my friends lift their bikes off the ground for winter storage. I was wondering if this is a good idea( I have never done this). If so what is a lift that works well with the rocket 3 roadster?
Any on topic input would be appreciated.
thanks. sds

WHY

You can ask Triumph that question; however, page 99 of my owners manual says to set motorcycle on stand so that both wheels are raised off the ground. If this cannot be done, place boards under the front and rear wheels to keep dampness away from the tires. Something I've always done.

I don't 'store' the bike all winter, but I do put it on a stand when out of use for more than --say-- a month..(****e weather times)--
I think taking the weight off the suspension & tyres is a good thing--(considering the weight of the beast)---- but then each to their own,as some will say that's nonsense??
** make sure you support the bike by some other means when 'jacked-up'straps or rope for instance, ya don't want that to fall on you..o_O
This one sourced in England,---- no doubt you will find similar where you are..
It works for the cage too.....as & when....:whitstling:

I used 2" rigid insulation to avoid getting a flat-spot on the tires, I had no issues, I'm not entirely sure if sitting affects motorcycle tires, but low profile car tires are very suseptable to it, and that's what we have used.

Supposedly so so that you remove moisture and a cold flat spot from the wheels. I just roll the bike forward or back an inch or 2 once in a while! I've never lifted my bike for storage..
