Sent my six year old 11.5"440s away to get worked on(oil leak) and installed my 12.5" stock shocks and boy does the bike feel weird but weird in a good way, the main reason I down sized was that I did not like sitting on top of the bike the lower shocks have you sitting down in the bike plus my wee 30"inseam helped a bit kind of getting to like the new found height so I might keep the big boys on, but no way am I reinstalling the stock exhaust why Triumph had Stevie Wonder design that set up is beyond me.
I would think dropping a full inch off the rear would have a pretty noticeable effect on handling. Did you do anything to drop the front equally (assuming that's possible)?
I threw my stock shocks away and put on 12.5 inch prog 440's. I nearly got bucked off the bike on rough roads because of those dang things. I have a 29" inseam but would not want to lower the bike. In fact, I like the very slight increase in height with the ExMax rear tire.
How did you deal with the kickstand, lowering the bike 1 inch? The kickstand is already too long even for the stock height.

I think you can lower the front by dropping the triple tree. I have done that on other bikes. That would keep the geometry correct, but the bike would still be lower and thus more stable and in need of more countersteering.
Did not effect the handling at all as quite a few folks(as bush would say) on here who have seen me drive would testify the first thing I noticed with the kick stand was I thought the bike was going to fall over with the stock shocks it really leans over with the side stand down.
You can drop the front I choose not to, the bike handles fine the way it is or should I say was
No Lupe, me too.
I adjusted my stock shocks from setting 1 to setting 3 and have no issues at all. That change made a big difference. I'm only 80kgs. Can't understand why the 3 setting is recommended for 2 up riding or for BIG boys. It's perfect for me.
