BIGGEST POSSIBLE HEADERS ON ROCKET 2500CC

I wonder what a longer pipe/muffler would do to power and sound. On the Moto Guzzi Griso forum they always talk about how having a longer pipe/muffler gives more torque.
yes, I can fiddle around a lot more now, I can make 2.5inch straight pipe but I dont know long it should be,

Can anyone provide inputs from their experience, if I were to put at 2.5inch straight pipe how long it should be?

Pipes can definitely change the torque curve.
I messed around and put a stubby muffler on my VFR. Sounded awesome but lost all mid range, which is what the Viffer is so good at. Ended up putting stock muffler back on.

I made it myself, the exhaust slipon is from a car

Great work on fabbing your own headers. I would love to see some close up pics, please.
Are they bends that you bought and stuck together or did you bend tube yourself?
There's a backyard gold mine, right there. Start pumping them out. I'm sure that you would get lots of orders from here.
The only other headers that I have seen on offer are Van Demon, which are too expensive for my budget.

Yep, you need to be real careful. All exhaust changes need a remap IMO. I put an open can on my KTM but left the stock headers and cat and it felt like I lost about 30 bhp. Stock dustbin went straight back on.
Selecting an exhaust for the Harley I had was even more of a minefield. I thought those big simple engines would be easy to tune but they're not and you can really stuff them up with the wrong choice.

I'm concerned about short pipes on the Rocket. Generally short open pipes work with high revs and a wide open throttle - hence drag pipes. But no one rides on the road like they would on the drag strip.
I'm waiting for Paul's Kiwi system to come on stream and then I want to see a dyno graph.

Thanks for your comment, it took me 1+ year to learn
fabrication
CAD designing for Flange
and TIG welding
All by myself in my garage by watching youtube and asking questions on other forums for welding+fabrication+CAD designing

This was 3 rd try, first two tries, nothing fitted and i had to scrap headers

Yes I bought elbows separately and TIG welded them, I didnt bend tube, I will try if the tube bender is cheap to buy, i can try making that type as well.

I inquired about Richard Headers no reply,
I also inquired about vandemon headers but they are not 2 inch at exhaust port to 2.5in on collector pipe so I didnt pull trigger on that

I am not sure if I will start selling them because this is a crude job and I have to learn a lot to produce professional level headers but mine works perfectly and there are no leaks

I ran one gas tank since I put these headers and slipon, and the torque has become insane, for instance I am cruising at ( 130kmph )80mph on highway and i open throttle all the way and in half a second it goes (145kmph) 90kmph

only downside I see so far - Fuel economy is a thing of past, its going less miles in one gas tank than before which I accept happily, I will get dyno to see AFR but definitely not running lean.

Nice work, Sunny.

My understanding is that Richard isn't currently focussing too much time on headers, but that doesn't mean that he won't do. ....He's a busy man.
My understanding is that Paul Bryant is developing some big bore headers and matching tail end......Anyone wanting bigger headers, I suggest it might be worth asking how far down the road he's got with it.

good to know, lets see how the pricing comes out.
