Biggest, nice hard bags for <<$1k??

Hello barbagris
Can you post a couple photo's please. I only saw one on your media page and it's hard to see.
I'm looking at the Shad products now. Looks like very good quality without a crazy price. Thinking top and side both from them.
Thanks,
Jay

I like the look of the Mustang Hard Saddle Bags does anyone have any idea if they would fit the R3R?

Have some photos

In the one of the case open you can see a mass of screw heads. I made some mounting plates that are NOT Q/D.
SHAD do offer a Q/D possibility but they end up a bit wider and are than able to rattle too much for my taste.

If you want/need top loaders - then you could look at Adventure style cases - Givi do a pretty good selection.

I'll admit that loading side opening cases is a bit of a dark art. But I have had mine so full I felt the need to wrap Gorilla Tape around them as they were starting to bulge a bit. Add the new SHAD 58L case and you have a helluvalot of storage.

Note my cases sit well forward as I have the passenger footrests relocated forward. Keeps the weight pretty much on the axle and not behind it.

Great! For sure I'm going with the side opening. Planning to have a large trunk. The issue with the top opening bags require to much space above them. I only ride solo so that gives me more options for position. I'm thinking I'll buy a set of stock mounts (more research on what model) and make an adapter from that to the Rocket.

Thanks again for the photos!

TOP CASE - If you go with SHAD - look at th the new SHAD 58L model. It is adjustable down to about 46L for when capacity matters less and aerodynamics matters more. Remove rear seat and pull it forward.

Shad 46L side cases have flat backs. My frames are basically to flat sheets of steel welded to a bar that attaches to the rear mudguard support and suspension mounts. Simple and SOLID, Has a support bar from side to side that fits snugly behind the number plate.
