If only everything built for the R3 was engineered as well as these Beringer calipers and rotors!

All parts are AEROSPACE QUALITY and a perfect fit. They include the necessary shims, and the instructions are crystal clear... a simple install. BTW, the Aeronal rotors must be broken in properly... very light braking at first, then progressively harder for the first 100 miles.

I'm still "braking in"... but already I notice an incredible steering response due to too even less rotational mass up front!

It's rare to pull up to a light and see another R3. The likely hood of seeing another like yours is "0" I would think. Very sharp. How do you like the caliper lights and what kind are they?

Great product made in USA! The halogen bulbs really reach out to light up the shoulders of both sides of the road at night... super Bambi finders. Also during the day they creat an unusual headlight pattern that gets you noticed by cagers. Highly recommended.

Still Something Missing

Well, I think you're almost there. It's been fun watching the metamorphosis of this project. When you have time, would you take a picture of the master cylinder for your brakes. I'm guessing it's got to be a bit bigger. Is it attached to the lever like the OEM?

Second, there's a few items left for you to do......! First, when looking at the side view, I'm thinking the custom seat needs to be more deep blue than gray. Maybe some lighter blue sewn into the seat top in the style of the paint scheme.

Third, I think the Pièce de résistance would be having the tire company put some blue dye into the rubber before pouring the mold. Wouldn't that be something unique?

Great job on this project and I only hope you're having as much fun riding and showing the R3 as we have been watching your project.

Brakes

How do the other major brake manufacturers compare performance price wise to Aerotec or do they even offer rotor/caliber/pads/mcylinder for the Rocket.

Critical Mass

Now that the rotors are broken-in, I have reached CRITICAL MASS (or lack thereof) in R3 handling. The loss of 14 more ounces (in addition to the CF wheels) from the rotating mass up front has resulted in actual sportbike handling... it's really FN amazing! Braking is far, far superior to a stock R3... on par with my K1200S. Perhaps having race capable brakes just gives me the confidence to take corners faster with no sweat, but this R3 is now a race bike and not a heavy cruiser.

I'm using the stock Triumph master cylinder with a Pazzo lever, not the Beringer. The seat will be modified with a much needed backstop and recovered in black hide. I think Pirelli would stop selling me tires if I requested them in blue.

Brembo makes great 6 piston calipers, but not a kit to adapt them to the R3. I believe theres a small British company that makes 6 piston calipers for the R3, but it's the high tech Beringer Aeronal rotors that really provide the superior braking in this setup.
