Before and After Mods Dyno Results!

Hey Rocket, yes I did the install myself. Dain pipe is an easy install. All I did different was wrap the flex pipe with heat wrap (keeps the open pipe from popping on deceleration). I love the triple K&Ns, BUT make sure to trim your bare claw for less heat wash on hot days. Also mount you air temp filter outside (don't leave under tank). I have pic if you want to see. As for Ram Air. It is hard to get in the USA so I went with K&N. tune HansO is the man. On the Dyno they only messed with a few things for altitude. Other then that tune was good.

Anything extra that you do for your rocket 3 will be an improvement, having said that, you don't need to do anything at all because she is a beast just leaving her stock! "Good luck, enjoy her and Be Safe!

YES a stock rocket with just a tuneup has twice the power of the HDs and Indiams LOL

Had TORs on my 07 Classic and thought they were great. I'm gradually learning about options for the Touring though and have seen the Dain pipe, or muffler, mentioned several times. I did a forum search and saw that Shanka161 sold one awhile back but am still a little fuzzy about what this is or how to get one. I did a web search and came up with several threads about it but where does it come from and are there problems with the Dain? I'm not trying to hijack this thread and while I'll probably go with TORs again am somewhat intrigued by this Dain thing.

Hansos(or other tune that helps feed the engine) tune was the big improvement as slip on exhausts will not give you too much a little but not much, the K&Ns definitely help it breath a bit better

What is interesting is that K&N is adamant that their filters do not cause an engine to run leaner. When I bought one for my 07 the literature stated as much and requested buyers to notify them if they they learn any publication etc., that states that they do. I was flabbergasted. When one puts a K&N on a Harley the first thing required (with carb models) is to rejet the carb. That's what I had to do. The K&N for the Rocket is the easiest intake mod and one that I will probably do, knowing there are better options.

In my quest to upgrade HP and torque on my Touring, perfection will again become the enemy of good enough.
