Backfiring mufflers
Back fire ... No never... Exhaust pop ... Yes all the time.
If you have ignition gasses coming out of the intake you have a problem.
You mean to ask about exhaust popping. Backfiring is when the ignition and combustion comes back out of the intake and not the exhaust.
As others have said yes it does but the stock exhaust hides it. I have some nice cobra pipes on and I get less now then I ever did with the ram air and a good tune
 
I don't get a pop like a fire cracker, just a loud gurgling sort of sound. I didn't notice it so much with the stock mufflers, but after installing TORS and RamAir, it was much louder. It bothered me at first, but after finding out it did no damage, I just got used to living with it. ( I have the "NELS-TORS_RAMAIR-K&N" tune on the ECU).
 
sounds like unburnt fuel to me, the 20368 tune that says by bob r in the bottom corner may clean that up.

Been trying to find that file. Is it on the TuneECU site or is there a download file here on the forum? Thanks!!! Don't really want to reprogram the ECU, but if it eliminated that, I may just do it.

im struggling to find the correct one on tune ecu. net myself, i will look on my laptops and see if i have the one im talking about. Which Nels 20368 is in your ecu now? I believe there are 3 Nels 20368 tunes, the original nels, claviger did a Nels 20368 and the Nels 20368 by Bob R. I asked our @Bob R before about it thinking it was his tune but I believe he said not his but maybe knew the tune. Ill keep looking Dyno 20368 stock tune, d and d slip ons, cat delete pipe crossover, ram air filter, oem header
