On my last set of AV71/72 Cobras I got 20,000km the rear was totally gone but the front still had 3-4K to go. Have now changed out to the new chromes and wow what a difference, streets ahead in grip, corner speed and improved ability to change direction. I am sure its the rear/front crest radius combination and compound that has improved the bikes handling capability, the best investment I have made and has transformed my R3.
I hate to be the bad apple of the bunch but when I had a Avon on the front with a Exedra Max it was awful!
Had a wobble at 45mph and forget about going over 100mph. Took the tire off and had it rebalanced and it still wobbled.
Tire guy said he has seen a lot of Avon tire problems from other people... guess I added to that. I bought a old faithful Metz and the wobble was gone at 45 and I finally could go over 100.
Just about a brand new Avon tire thrown in the dumpster.
