Thomas Cook Clothing and Footwear make "Johnny Reb" boots they normally have a narrow toe and do not have a zip these are in fact the "Johnny Reb Rouge" a variation of the Johnny Reb's (still a Thomas Cook line) which have the wider toe and the zipper to accomadate people like me that have both a wide foot and a high instep correct me if I am wrong but i am under the impression the Thomas Cook is actually a US company

I think what confused me about the johnny reb name was our johnny rebs,
didn't have boots to speak of,
our confederates were pretty much thread bear during the civil war.
