I changed mine as per Warp's recommendations. I kept leaning back in the turns. These things are OK if you are just going to loaf and slouch. If you are going to lean the Rocket, go back to stock. aaaand get a backrest that keeps you close to the front of the seat. You will enter turns and remain on a good line. You will be in the center of the bike and make better use of the suspension. These monsters need to be driven through turns. aaaand decrease your rear shocks preload to minimum. Get a set of good rear shocks and install Progressive fork springs and heavier oil. Straddle your bike, clamp the front brake and push hard. If you can dip the bike more than 1 or 2 inches, you need front springs and good oil. This oil need refreshing every two years or so. Have fun.
On my 2016 Roadster, i had rivco risers with Thunderbike teebars...progressive fork springs with 7 grade oil...rear shocks, i put wilbers on but changed them to ohlins which i had made especially for me...it changed the whole ride for the better. Still had to ride it out of the corners as they are a heavy bike and it seems to want to run wide if you dont 'boss' it!
Actually you can leave the risers alone and put the stock "Standard" handlebars (like those that came on my 05) on and it will move your controls about 2 inches forward. The "Classic" setup the bars are pulled back 2 inches and the risers added another 3/4" of rear bias. If you want to go "Cafe," flip those risers 180 degrees and put a T-Bar on and you'll be laying on your gas tank....
