I'm considering the 6-103 ignition module for the PCV. I was under the impression that the new PCV could do ignition mapping, but that apparently is only for the twins (after reading the fine print).
At this point I don't know if the benefits would justify the additional $360 for the ignition module.
The timing curve is calibrated on the conservative side anyway, no doubt due to the F**kn california emissions on my Touring. I use 91-93 octane anyway, so I was hoping to bump the curve a few degrees across the board.
If any of you have some proof (dyno results) of changes made to the timing curve I would welcome them.

I think I'd talk to some of the Dyno tuning gurus first.

See how many of them have messed about with the timing and what the benefits were/are.

Probably just as easy to modify timing values with TuneECU too.

VERY dangerous territory in which to play, without a dyno. DAMHIK.....

Perhaps even WITH a dyno, unless you're very sure of what you're doing.

I looked into it and as Ruzzel said you would need to have it on a Dyno anyway and it would be just as easy to alter the timing with TuneBoy or TuneECU but it needs to be done by an Expert or you could end up with a big repair bill

yep,,,that is agreed. I wouldn't attempt it without the dyno. We tweek the cars all the time (timing), but they are usually a tad safer to work with because of the input of multiple knock sensors and auto-retard. Still, as Ruzzel mentioned,,,the damage can happen sometimes within seconds and be VERY costly.

Now for the results of the fuel mapping: My touring gained 15'/lb, but with a nice flat torque curve,,,the sweet spot coming in at 3-4500rpm PERFECT!! It pulls like a freight train in that rpm band that I use a lot. I found another 26hp with the peak nearly the same as the torque. I don't think thats too bad, considering I'm running the stock headpipe, my homemade airbox with K&N's and homemade exh crossover with the D&D dual pipes.
There is a certain V-rod that is on my hit list,,,,but I think I'll wait till I'm goin uphill with my wife on back before I surprise him. Gotta find the max embarassment factor
