I've got an '08 R3T with a Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread. I've got a little over 5K miles on it now and the bike is starting to draw the floorboards on tight turns. The first time it happens it scares ya a little. The second time it startles you a little. After that, you start to look for it. I used to drag the floorboards on my Suzuki's all the time. The boards on the R3t are at least 2 inches higher, so imagine my surprise.
Has anyone else had this happen?
They told me that a "car tire wouldn't handle", "won't turn", "it's dangerous". I guess my bike doesn't know that!:)

who is they
i have a ct on my 08 r3t and so does my old lady and we have no problem and we live and ride in the mt all the time:D

Are you two telling me you got car tires on your bikes?
Naw, it won't corner, it'll only go straight.....;)

Scraping your boards huh?
Got them little wear do-hickys down past the nub yet?

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the problem you mentioned..:p

I am running a ct 245/50/16 a little bit of counter steer, I actually liked the way it handles better and my better half says that it rides better. and I really love the price considering that I had already run through three of the Metz at 300.00 a pop

I'm not an aggressive rider, so no I haven't had the problem. (On the other hand I also have 1" taller shocks so scraping footboards means it's tilted waaaaaay over). Rode Deal's Gap (318 curves 11 miles) and never touched one down (but Monte on his VTX was scraping them off trying to keep up ).

I choose to put a set of 12" Progressives on the back of my '05 Rocket years ago (1/2" taller than stock). When I went to the darkside & finally got comfortable with the setup, I'm able to drag the nipples on mine, even with the taller stance.

Darkside Cooper hugs the pavement on edge as well as the stock Metz. Feels great going straight or in the twisties scrapping the ****.

See ya.

Hey Rusty, I see you have or had a 1978 Yamaha XS1100E. The XS11.com site may still have a photo of my old 1981 XS1100SH. That bike was a great ride. I even took it on a trip to New Mexico in 1998.

Now back to the thread (sorry for the hijack I just got misty over an old scoot).

deals gap 318 curves in 11 miles. sure has to be a lot more entertaining than kansas highways where there are 11 curves in 318 miles.
