Anyone fitted the latest MC Cruise Control to a Roadster

Just a quick up date

I was in Melbourne 2 weeks ago and went to see Mccruise

Frank was most obliging in repairing the fault I had and measured up the roadster for a bracket.

I expect that he has a solution for the fitting of the new non vacuum unit

I did have to modify the servo bracket to get the electronic servo unit to fit reasonabley well. The down side is the cable is routed below the crash bars instead of between the crasg bar and the engine. I will be keen to see the ne bracket.
The cruise is working 100%, best accesory I have purchased.

My Roadster has the Ramair filter fitted so I’ve installed the electric servo under the tank to the rear of the motor where the original inlet duct was. The cross member on the frame at this spot was an obvious choice to connect to a

Hmm. One more set of things to move if one needs to access the spark plugs and valve cover.

Agreed
This location adds two extra screws and 10 min to an annual task.

The benefit comes from shortening the control cable by a foot which according to Frank should improves the servo’s responsiveness. Also keeping it dry and out of the elements must add to its life.
And I’m thinking that it keeps the cog on the bikes centre line rather than favouring right hand corners:roll::D

Pete, did Mc Cruise supply you special bracket that had been designed for the Roadster and did you shorten the cable yourself when you located the servo unit on top of the air box.

Yes they provided a bracket but made note that they hadn’t had an opportunity to test the bracket on a Roadster. I told them I was happy to modify it if I needed to but in the end I settled on installing it under the tank.
Yes I shortened the cable as per the instructions they sent me. The instructions include the set length between cable and sheath that must be maintained. A simple job if you have a crimping tool to install the cable end after arriving at the correct cable length.
