Anybody use any of these "Cruise controls / Throttle locks " ?? The cheaper one seems like it won't mount, even though they have Rocket 3 on installation list since master cylinder doesn't slide away from throttle houseing. And the exspensive one is quite costly. Putting it on a Roadster. During long ride I suffer from Numb hands and need to move throttle hand. Any comments would be appreciated.

I suffer from tennis elbow which causes extreme pain a numbness on long rides, I have used cheaper ones on other bikes with mixed results sometimes slipping or do them up a bit tighter and they start causing throttle to bind, This time round I said stuff it... spent the extra and bought the BrakeAway fitted it a couple of weeks a ago and once set up properly and adjusted as instructed it worked perfectly from the get go, I am wrapped Money Well spent!!!!!

Please note if like me and other you have the bars pulled back to just clear the tank on full lock you will want to raise the the bars a little as I didn't and now have a small chip in the paint where the bracket on the BrakeAway mounts on the master cylinder sticks out just a little ...enought to scratch/chip the paint ouch!!! another reason to get a custom paint job down the track and before someone suggests NoI will not be Painting her Black

cruise control

had breakaway cruise control on my last three bikes and would not be with out it now, great to give your hand a break every now and then, plus when you change bikes just take it with you

Thanks for the repsonse. Guess I'll take the plunge and go for the brakeaway!!!

Thanks Hanso also for the tip on checking handlebar clearance!!

Any other comments welcome too!

Yup, I'll add 2 thumbs up on the BrakeAway.

The ThrottleMeister/Kaoko versions are OK, too. I sold the Kaoko after 3 months of use to buy the BrakeAway, though.

Mainly for the esthetics--it looks like a custom piece of equipment.

And when dialed in correctly (that'll take you a while!), there's nothing better as far as form and function are concerned.

Brakeaway REVIEW!!

Ok bought the Brakeaway Cruise control / throttle lock on Ebay $189 ( $10 below list ) Directions were kinda pain but figured out how to set it up just right. there are a few Youtube videos on installations too. Ok Pros & Cons. Pros: Quality made, works very well when set up perfectly. Cons: Expensive, unit is about 1/2" wide so you loose that much of throttle room. Didn't bother me once I got used to it. My "Non-Professional Rating" oN A 1 TO 10 I give it a Drum roll ........................ 9

Painting her black????. I think your starting to come round. You start thinking about a custom paint job and the first colour that pops into your head is black.
