BSA made the original Rocket III (750cc I believe), Triumph's version was the Trident.

I made it down to Trinidad but I can't stop for long got to keep on running.
I'm going to stop everywhere I can to fill up cuz you never know where you'll find another gas station out here open in the middle of the night

You are making good time and distance. keep riding safe and stay sharp. Going down the raton pass at night can be a bear.

well I've made it to Clayton I think that's in New Mexico . I'm still on the way my feet are cold it's kind of chilly my hands were cold had to hug the motor for a minute but now I'm all warmed up and about to take off with a fresh tank of gas. so I think I'll be able to make it all the way to Amarillo without worrying about gas stations being open along the way.

Actually I think I've passed the worst of it where there are long stretches with no gas.

man these Rockets really have a hard time going slower than 80 miles an hour don't they?

Gassing up in dumbass Texas. Ooops, that's Dumas.
yes it yes it goes a lot faster when it's not freezing cold having to stop more often and take 15 minutes to pee.

I thought I thought I would have been in Amarillo an hour ago but I'm still an hour away.

well I'm well I'm in Claude now just outside of Amarillo I figured I'd be here a lot sooner but I guess that's how it goes.

not much to see just a lot of Darkness going by. still just a little chilly.
I just dropped my tank bag off the bike going 80 miles an hour and had to pull over and run back and find it before anyone could run over it.

fortunately I was just about the only person on the road and I found it.
well I've been here eight minutes or so so I better run I'll check in a couple of hours right now it's 4 a.m.
