AM DONE

That ain't it. I have rode bikes as a steady means of transportation since 1975. The Rocket ain't cutting it. To many issues and fixes. Most items i can figure out but this am stumped. I do know electric issues are one that leads into another. Should not have this issue given the mileage. Given other misfortunes time to get a bike that is up to the way i ride.

I fully understand. Yamaha lead the reliability tables generally. There is NO WAY I'd RELY exclusively on an R3 for transport. Electrics does not really faze me (electronics is a whole different kettle of fish) - but the detent spring thing (and subsequent dribbly radiator hose) was an annoyance.

Your reasoning is, imo, sound. It's pretty much the reason I got rid of my 25 year old LandRover - Just became too much hassle for the daily driver.

But stick around - Obstreperous Sexagenarian.

i agree with your frustration leading to being pissed off and saying IM DONE...i too cant be stuffed with tools, machines etc if its not cutting it!..i will toss an electric drill as far as i can if it wont perform anymore cos it feels satisfying to do that!...
Sooner or later a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do...FU*K IT!...i wont think any less of you Sonny because you ride a Yamaha. Best of luck with your decision.

Sonny that Yamaha is a sweet bike. It looks like a complete package. Enjoy your new ride.

Don't be a stranger and stick around and give us some progress reports.

With direction of the new Rockets I may be shopping in a couple years. Wife and I need a good touring bike. Our R3T is great, but Triumph just does not have anything in this class anymore.
