Rocket 111
Hello chaps, recently got my hands on a 2005 rocket 111 from my dad, can anyone shed some light on what sort of range on miles they get from a full tank and tyres? Only ask as planning on heading down too the south of Spain, traveling from Cheshire and a few people have said not too do it on the rocket as I'll be lucky too get 100+ out of a full tank and 2k miles on a new back tyre

Hey there Darcy
I've got a 2012 R3T . First I did not know that Triumph made a Touring model in those yrs . What I do know is that I myself get appx 300k out of 1 tank of fuel .= to about 185miles. Tire's well that depends on what brand you buy. I for one use Bridgestone Exedra Max Radial Rear Tire 180/70/16 & Bridgestone Exedra Max Radial Rear Tire 160/70/16 & I get 13-15000 km out of a set them . = 8000-9500miles to a set . I hope this helps you out a bit . And to finish off this is a great Touring machine. Have fun & enjoy .

On my 06 classic I would average bout 10-12000 miles on the rear tire but that also depends on the road conditions
On average on gas would get 30-34 mpg depends on the way you ride
In 05 they didn't have a touring model the touring model came out in 08

Tire wear varies wildly on road surface and riding style. I average 4,000 miles/tire, but the averages most reported tend to be twice that much or more. I've toured a fair bit on my Roadster and now 3R. Those "few people" who advised you not to take the Rocket- Harley riders, are they? Enjoy your trip and keep us posted.....

I get about 100 miles on my 2004 R3, but I tend to ride like ive stole it, ive been told you can get about 150 if you are on long M road runs, but I think that's in neutral going downhill with a tail wind.....

.....it's going to come down to a number of factors...make sure your tyre pressures are always correct...ride the bike like you love it not like you stole it...treat it with respect and youll get at least 180 miles out of a tank..easy!...I had a 2016 Roadster new...my lady and i did a trip, she took the car and i was on the bike as our friends were meeting us the next day..the guys would be on their bikes. Steph wasnt too confident driving all that way so we trundled along around 100kph. I refueled at 180miles and had heaps left...so you can see what i mean...dont thrash it and youll be fine....What tyres do you have on the bike?..if they are Metzeler 808's they wear pretty fast..Metzeler 888's are better wearing..Avons better again (IMHO) so you should get good mileage if you have Metzeler 888's or Avon's and you are riding steadily...That's my opinion....Good luck....you WILL enjoy it....

You should geg.t the milage unless someone has put a tune in it that turns it into a gas hog

Nah, it needs a good thrashing! it’s a bloody big engine that has zero issues being pushed, I can’t see the point in plodding along massaging it, but each to their own

...I did say my Lady was driving the car...on a trip she wasnt confident doing...i was protecting my brownie points by sticking with her......Normally i would be going a tad faster...as you do..
