2nd gear

2014 Roadster. Last year before Daytona my roadster started popping out of 2nd gear at high rpm. I trailered to Daytona and went to the races for 3 days and never had an issue. I rode all year only occasionally popping out of 2nd (only under high rpm). I just got back from Daytona a year later and had no issues while there. It has been over a year now and it doesn't seem to be any worse and I can ride all day without it happening unless I really get on it and this only happens in 2nd. I am sure it is going to get worse but it hasn't in over a year now. If it does get worse I don't even know what to do. With gen1 Rocket parts being harder to come by I am nervous about investing too much into it. Anybody have any advice?

Sounds like 2nd gear dog, dog fork? Either way something is probably just worn and wont hold. Gonna have to split it before it goes since you are sure this is definitely happening, if it doesn’t go, repair would be strait forward changing parts pieces that prove to be worn, its gonna be expensive and alot of work to fix before it lets go, after it lets go you already know it will be more expensive.

When they go, they go. Mine locked up at rush hour, on the interstate, on a dip under a bridge on a blind curve in downtown St Louis. Pretty scary when it happens, I also thought I would be OK, just skipped 2nd. Worked for a while, until it didn't
