I actually think Triumph listened to all of us guys who owned the original Rocket and Roadster. My son used to be involved in Market Research. While he was in university, as a part time job he was paid (and quite well I might add) to read assigned forums/articles and record any positive or negative points regarding the product in question. A number of students were doing this kind of work for different companies. It looks like Triumph did their homework and have listened to the masses.
Some of the things they have addressed with the new bike which may have been complaints on the old:
1. Larger displacement (gotta be the biggest)
2. Excellent handling
3. Good looking unit (doesn't look like a tractor as Lamonster stated)
4. Excellent fit, finish and form (minimize plastic, passenger pegs hidden, led turn signals)
5. Power
6. Transmission quality (bevel cut gears are generally considered to be better but are more expensive)
7. A 6th gear
8. Electronics (some want more???)
9. LED headlights (I hope these put out more light than the older units.... Haven't heard how good they are yet)
Again, most of us older model riders probably didn't think these were concerns but the fellows new to Triumph seem to have.
If you want to know what people think of your ride, read some of the non Triumph forums for honest reviews. Remember, we're biased....
