Ha ha , believe me I'm on the same page Tal , but you struck an awful lot of chords ! I view the new roadster as nothing but a fairly impractible toy . If I were a lottery winner ( or dentist )
? I would no doubt have one of each model in my garage . However ? to finance myself to the hilt , and condemn myself to a fairly assured solo motorcycling future, on account of being able to take no one other than a size zero model on the pillion, just isn't an option for me . I can find a good few reason to poo poo the new R3s , which isn't really fair on the guys here fortunate enough to be taking delivery of one , especially as , altho valid , negative comments would derive from envy and maybe a dash of denial and possibly all contradicted at a later date ? For the price tag tho , there are an awful lot of bikes out there , that one would never even consider throwing a leg over because of the tag , like the new H2 supercharged kwak amongst others ? Life is too short tho my friend , and as mentioned , we never know what is in store for us ? If it brings a grin to your face and makes you feel 17 again and one can afford it , then why the **** not ? The last time I was at my local dealers , I sat on the new roadster , and after being informed by the salesman , that as far as they were concerned , I could afford one , I hurried out of the showroom and spent my available money on a somewhat cheaper, but no less exciting thrill ! I am content , for now . But that could change . fickle bunch us motorcyclists !
