2020 Indian Roadmaster Darkhorse.

Don't ask a Victory owner what they think of Indian, we were kicked in the nuts by Polaris and left on the side of the road wondering what happened. Enjoy your new Indian and I hope they don't do to you like they did to Victory owners. A Polaris product will NEVER sit in my garage again.

Just curious, @sonny, if you've spent any time with this kind of bike? I had a 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour that was simply exceptional at its intended job. Ton of luggage space, comfortable, venting that made for perfect wind management hot or cold, handled better than it had a right to, etc. The problem I had with it was that it was so good I thought it more inconvenient car than motorcycle. One day while running errands on it I found myself thinking, "It's a pretty nice day, if I hurry I can get home and go for a ride." Just something to consider based on my experience. IMO, YMMV, etc.
Also, do the test ride. The Roadmaster I rode was uncomfortably hot on my leg on a day that my similarly equipped Victory had no issues. The rear cylinder deactivation probably helps, but on the 116 I rode the activation was kind of clunky.

I have a Vegas too, @sweettennbabe , a blue '03 an ex girlfriend gave me. Don't ride it often, but it's fun when I do.
 
Don't get me wrong what Indian did with the new motor is fantastic. Really like the way they look. The base bike is OK. I do not wish to pay extra for Smart lean control, Dynamic control with corning control, ABS with corning control and drag torque control. all that and a 100 watt stereo. The Roadmaster has none of that.It does have a 200 watt stereo ABS and rider modes A fairing with open and closed air vents in the lower section of the fairing. (2020) Heated grips etc. Basically Indian listened to their seasoned riders and offered them a good handling smart looking and very functional touring motorcycle. The Challenger is designed to be sold to a different crowd of folks nothing wrong with that. On top of all that the 111 and 116 has been around for awhile. Both have a good rep for being dependable. The challenger motor has not been on the market very long. The Challenger fairing i do not care for very much. The Roadmaster dark horse fairing i like very much. They are really two different bikes that attract two different riders. Nothing wrong with that. The biggest reason of all for the 116 "I know how to work on them"

the powerplus was originally slated to go to victory....from what i've heard the challenger is a very easy smooth ride. The engine is the real deal not rocket real deal but def. worthy- i'm not crazy about all the riding modes i feel that is too much tech interfering with ability and freedoms(s) do like the NAV infotainment the sound system is impressive, keyless locking system, TPMS std, it def. is a challenge to Harley and one easily could argue you are getting a lot more bike for your money.
 
I have two friends that have Indian motorcycles, one is a new Challenger that he rode two weeks and it just stopped. Seven weeks later and a total disassembly his used to be new bike is back with him.

The other is a 2016 on his second oil pump having sheared a pin twice while at highway speed stopping all oil circulation.

Polaris covered the Challenger and wouldn't help the other guy with both oil pump failures.
