I think we should try not stay at a pub as it will lead to restrictions on BYO alcohol if you know what I mean

I agree ,BYO is the way to go $6.00 Schooners works out to $144.00 for 24 drinks a carton of 24 stubbies at max price is still under $50.00 ,I know the pub has to pay wages and all the overheads but $100.00 is affair saving on a weekend trip ,also steak on the BBQ is always great with a "few" cleansing ales, I think once again a block of cabins is the a good option, you can always go to the Pub for a Draughty if you like ,but party on backat the cabins,

Snow over Hotham is sure bad enough, but when there is strong sideways sleet and thick fog it is a nightmare, Three of us did the run up from Harrietville in those conditions, low gear about 20 kph, flat out seeing bike twenty feet in front, only thing visible was yellow centre line and orange side posts... bl##dy road SHOULD have been closed....

I think triumph held there rat rally down at jindabyne this year gone. Good mix of roads around that area. Plenty of little towns to explore and have a quiet one. From memory plenty of place to stay.

Ha ... if you want to freeze ... nothing in Orange that could accommodate what we want. Bottom of the Snowy is warmer at this time of the year (than Orange). Dubbo is all motels and such, as is Bathurst. Down on the Murray is good ... tourist parks and such as back toward Jingellic way. Narrandera has a lake and Tourist park but I would have a look to see .... lets string this out a bit ... back from Vietnam around Nov 25 ... I will go for a ride then.

Well, well. Been away for a month and no-one has come up with anything new? Just rode a Chinese LIFAN 150 down the Ho Chi Minh Trail .... rotating gearboxes are such fun. Anyway enough of that ..... mmmmm where too now? I have a lot of positive thoughts about Jingellic. Camp ground across from a pub, so cater for ourselves or be catered for ... maybe. Once I attack my TPS I'll go for a ride. I have a couple of whispers about some de-licenced pubs a little west of me that cater for bike weekends that also worth a look

My only concern is that Jingellic may be a bit far south for some of our Qlder's
