31,171 miles at this moment. In excellent condition.* Ramair intake system, Clearview windshield, no tint, with adjustable vent, BrakeAway throttle lock, ‘carbon fiber’ style rider and pillion seats off a 2015 R3, Viking saddlebags(replaced Viking badges with Triumph metal badges), Utopia back rest, new Bridgestone rear tire, new Michelin Road 5 front tire, Signal Minder to automatically cancel turn signals, Stebel type air horn mounted on lower right side of crash guard, Triumph rubber knee and tank back-end pads, original Triumph Classic floorboards and passenger floorboards(Rivco brand?), original pillion backrest/luggage rack with aftermarket leather bag attached, original Triumph gauges(all 4), fresh brake pads, accessory fuse box(6 or 8 position?) added for accessories like air horn, USB ports, SAE power port, European style(BMW)power ports, chrome trim(“R3 Classic”) over radiator fins, custom bike lift adapter plate mounted under engine at rear, Rivco handlebar risers, replaced original cone style mufflers with Triumph slash cut mufflers, replaced locking gas cap with after market non-locking gas cap that far better accommodates the gigantic California emissions control fuel nozzle donut gizmos, @Mittzy’s heavy duty battery cables, installed new tank float arm and filter in gas tank(tank still has about 2 gallons in reserve when gauge shows empty) plus I installed the highly recommended Suzuki #SH847AA regulator/rectifier as insurance against stator burnout.
I have the original mufflers, air intake system, locking gas cap, emissions canister, windshield, seat, battery cables , passenger pegs and horn. Two keys. May still have the original mirrors. I replaced them with standard Harley Electra Glide mirrors which have much better field of view and clarity. I have .pdf copies of the owner’s and service manuals. I assume there is a way to transfer them to buyer via Email or some other means like USB thumb drive.
*A few months ago, the odometer mileage stopped showing in the speedometer’s display window. That happened at approximately 30,100 + or - a few miles. I installed a GPS based speedometer/odometer which is very accurate per my tests via Google Maps mileage. It’s mounted under the seat in the air filter box because it is too large for the handlebars. The small GPS antenna cube is mounted on top of the USB port/SAE port housing on the right-side handlebar. I placed a label with “30,500 miles” on the frame next to the gauge to show original mileage. It is about 400 more than actual but I wanted to error in favor of showing more mileage than less. Adding that original mileage # to the GPS odometer mileage gives you total mileage in order to keep track for scheduled maintenance. The only other problem I’ve encountered, about a week after buying the bike, was a bad solder joint in the ignition switch which was repaired for me by the forum’s electrical expert, @DEcosse. I also added his 2nd relay switch design to fix the original Triumph design problem with too much power going through the ignition switch. There is a small scratch in the middle of the chrome Bear Claw cover, over which I glued a small metal lapel sized combination American/British flag(among pictures attached).
I’ve changed oil every 5K with Mobil One Racing, 10/50. I use Loctite Moly on the drive shaft/wheel drive gears and Mobile One gear oil in the bevel box(differential). I have always used premium gas. Always garaged and kept on Battery Tender. I’ve never done speed shifting, power shifting, burnouts or any other dumb-ass abusive thing to this bike. Yes, I’m a dull guy.
Why am I selling? I’m 74 with 3 bikes and I don’t ride much these days. I hope to keep my ’08 R III Touring for a couple more years as well as my ’09 Harley Ultra Classic. If I sell this bike and clear garage space for more of her junk then my wife will be happy and continue to cook for me.
I paid $5,500.00 for this bike in 06/2018 with 23,000 miles on the odometer. It did not come with saddlebags or a crash guard or any of the items listed above(unless identified as original to the bike). Other than the Ramair intake, the improved ignition relay wiring, the Signal Minder and adding the Suzuki regulator/rectifier, I have not modified the engine, exhaust system or anything else. I am asking $3,750.00. If you live near Escondido, CA and want to see and ride the bike you are welcome to as long as I can accompany you during the ride.
If interested please PM via the forum system. Happy to work with a bike shipper as long as I have a reasonable heads-up about when pickup is scheduled. If desired, I can ship the original parts at cost paid by buyer via shipper of their choice. I have a clear California title for this bike. I will want a personal check or certified bank check and I will not sign over the title or facilitate shipment until I see a check cleared and deposited in my bank account.
Please PM me with your questions. I am selling the bike with no warranty of any kind expressed or implied. We can talk by phone if we get serious about a deal. Thank you.
PS: I have lots more close up photos, hopefully I can send more via PM. Ad rules apparently only allow me to post 10 with ad.
