Also,
Bagman, I see that you're in AZ. We're looking to be moving out there in the next year or two to the Pheonix area. We've visited a few times as we have some family in the area and I'll have to say I can't wait to get out there riding in the desert. Any places you recommend?
I too have a bit of the vertical challenge but I am concerned with changes in handling and scraping. Seems lowering of the seat would not have any real change with this, and I also am wondering if lowering the front springs need match the rear?

the seat lowered me more than anything
the rear shocks lowered 35mm and had the forks moved up in the tree but will only raise about 1 cm. i can't tell any dif in the handling, and there is so much clearance on these bikes that this much lowering has not made a difference w/ scraping (no scraping so far).

i thought about lowering mine but clearance is an issue for me. don't get me wrong i'm no boy racer and only weigh 170lbs but i can't remember going out and not touching down. originally had the standard forward rests on and then fitted roadster footrails these just feel more natural but ground just as easy. so either you've no bends in your part of the world or you just are'nt riding hard enough
this looks like a good place to ask a question about stock shocks. mine have five settings, 1 through 5. am i to assume that 1 is the softest setting and that 5 is for the heavy rider or stiffest spring setting? i didn't know really where to ask and i really just forgot to use the search function.
